Store front windows are traditionally large fixed windows. Their size and contemporary building codes often required the use of thicker tempered glass which we can provide. We have custom fabricated entire downtown historic business store fronts with historic wood store front windows with doors. And, we do it like in the old days, using 10/4 wood stock for the main window and sash frames with heavy mortise and tenon joinery. Send us pictures of the project and we’ll see if our methods and materials makes sense for you.
We offer a variety of glass types in any shape you need including; highly efficient and space saving Spacia Vacuum Insulated Glass, regular insulated glass, monolithic glass, and wavy glass.
There have only been a handful of predominant sash molding profiles from 1865 on. The most common profile and our standard is the “Roman Ogee”, while other profiles are available.
Our use of insulated glass, our own Window Logic weather stripping system, and high quality constant force balancing systems provide the efficiency of modern windows with historical accuracy.
We maintain historical aesthetics by setting glass 7/8″ deep into the sash from the interior to create a shadow line that helps provide character. Most modern manufacturers ignore this crucial detail.
Heirloom Ultima Windows are unquestionably the most historically accurate window on the market with contemporary performance. See how Accoya wood and VIG combine to satisfy both preservationist and conservationists.
Magnum Windows are Heirloom’s original product and identical to the Ultima except the Magnum utilizes standard IG (Insulated Glass) which makes the sash thicker. See why it’s sometimes the best option.
Heirloom Classic windows are the classic historic replica window with either standard double strength glass or even wavy glass. The Classic is the right choice if True Divided Lite construction is required and it is available with or without Heirloom’s proprietary invisible weather-stripping system.
